Digital Labs: managers of art residencies

Art residencies create space for dialogue, making people more sensitive to foreign cultures, ideas and cooperation opportunities. We aim to further this in Ukraine, bringing local artists, curators, art managers, and researchers together with their European counterparts. To achieve this, we hold Digital Labs.
Digital Labs unite art managers who want to hold international residencies in Ukraine’s regions. You will create an implementation plan for your residency idea or decide how to perfect, or adapt to the times of pandemic, a project you have been working on for some time. To this end, you will study each aspect of art mobility management during lectures with international experts and receive personal advice during consultations with them. The final event of the Digital Lab is the pitching, where you will test your project once again and get the chance to receive EUR 1,00 to carry it out.
This is a new programme and we do not yet know how often we will announce open calls. Follow this page or subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to hear the updates.
This is for carrying out a successful international residency
You will find out how to make sure your residency happens and turns into a regular event. Organisation, team, cooperation, fundraising, legal aspects, marketing, sustainability: we will handle all of those stages and pay special attention to working the regions and online activities.
This is for learning from the experience of experts from Ukraine and the EU
The experts for this programme are practitioners from the EU and Ukraine. To talk about each aspect of management of residencies, we invited people who specialise in it. Managers of regional residencies will talk about the peculiarities of work in the regions, officers of cultural funds will advise on fundraising. You will communicate with the experts directly, so being confident speaking English is a must.
This is for creating a residency project, with a budget and timeline
Digital Labs are an opportunity to turn an idea for an international residency you cherish into a feasible project with a budget and timeline. Alternatively, you can find ideas about how to improve your existing residency and work on the plan of action. We are waiting for projects to come to life: the most promising ones will get funding from us on realisation.
This is for finding fellows
You have a lot in common with other participants of the lab: values and aspirations to further arts in Ukrainian regions and design residencies. This is the base for collaborative projects, partnerships, and new friends.
