This is a workshop for those who create cultural products in collaboration with foreign partners. We will start by uncovering the management and communication styles of different cultures and learning how to turn differences into points of connection. Moving to practice, we will study recent international projects with Ukrainian roots and answer all your questions during individual mentoring sessions.

Who are the speakers?
  • Denys Vasyliev, a cultural manager with 20+ years of experience. Director at the Museum of History of Musical Instruments BarabanZa, Founder at the Centre for Business Technologies and Culture Development, and Programme Director at the Sound Art Space residency. 
  • Olena Mykhailenko, a PhD in economics and author of courses and publications. Olena researches the identity of the Ukrainian diaspora at the University of Alberta (Canada) and teaches at universities in Ukraine, Canada, and the EU. 
  • Yuliya Bielikova, PhD in sociology, activist, and author of 80+ scientific publications. Yuliya teaches at the Kharkiv National University of Economics and is a media and gender expert in projects by Internews, USAID, GIZ, and U-LEAD.

  • The workshop is part of Cultural Transformation Lab — a series of practical education and networking events aimed at supporting Ukrainian cultural managers, civil society, and cultural actors residing outside of large cities and regional centres in times of war. The Lab is carried out by Goethe-Institut Ukraine and is part of an EU-funded programme House of Europe. The project is held in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
