Support of cultural and educational organisations affected by the war
Due to Russia's war against Ukraine, the work of artists, cultural and media professionals, and civil society initiatives have become threatened or impossible in many respects.
Goethe-Institut offers Ukrainian cultural organisations up to EUR 25,000 to implement cultural and artistic initiatives till the end of 2022.
Applying is possible until 30 September, but the number of grants is limited, so do not hesitate to apply as soon as possible.
The programme is offered by the Goethe-Institut in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of the Stabilization Fund for Culture and Education in Ukraine project. This is one of the thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
You can get up to EUR 25,000 on the projects aimed at:
- Preservation and promotion of cultural exchange through artistic productions and partnerships, events and programme development
- Structural maintenance measures such as training, digital development, network building, or equipment and personnel costs
- Providing safe spaces for refugee artists and institutions in exile
- Preservation of cultural heritage and protection of cultural assets
The grant is best for Ukrainian cultural organisations in the fields of theatre, dance, film, music, literature, visual arts, performance, architecture, library. and museum.
Ukrainian organisations in exile in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Croatia, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan. or Uzbekistan can apply via the following link indicating their current location.
- Application form, completed in English: elaborate on your organisation, project you will be working on, team, time frames and expected results. Don't forget to add a detailed project budget.
- If the budget of your project is from EUR 10,001 to 25,000, please also attach annual financial statements for the last two years, or other documents confirming your ability to manage such sums.

- The results will be announced by email between 6–8 weeks after submission of the application.
- The Goethe-Institut can arrange translation funding if required. Please send such a request at least three weeks before the application to stabilisierungsfonds@goethe.de.
- If you win the grant, you will have to spend funds within 6 weeks of receipt in your account.
- At the end of the funding period, you are required to provide a detailed report on the project results and evidence of the use of the funds.
