What do I get?
- A residency in Germany from two to six weeks long
- Expenses on travel to and from Germany covered
- Health insurance during your stay in Germany
- A weekly allowance of up to EUR 400 for accommodation, meals and other expenses
Can I apply?
This residency supports individual musicians having a significant impact on the arts scene in their home country or Germany.
What do I need to apply?
- An informative project description: a brief description of the project, concrete objectives of residency, an outline of project planning, information about other partners and their role in the project
- Your brief profile and information about the partner institution in Germany
- Confirmation from the German partner: a letter of motivation by the artist or an invitation from the partner institution
- Budget including information about funding provided by the partner institution, third parties and your fees
- Link to your recent audio recording or other works

Good to know
- This opportunity will not support travels primarily for tourist purposes, guest performance trips and tours, visits to masterclasses, summer schools and other studies abroad, and the conduction of commercial training seminars.
- After a music residency in Germany, you will be ineligible for subsequent Goethe-Institut music residencies in Germany for three full calendar years.
- You can apply yourself or ask your partner institution in Germany to apply.
- No firm pre-existing bookings of flights, hotels, etc. are required at the time of application.
- The Goethe-Institut will not provide housing.
