Culture in times of upheaval. Cultural Transformation Lab for newcomers to cultural management
This is an intensive six-day lab for those who dream of gathering famous artists at festivals, holding book fairs, putting together art exhibitions, and advancing Ukrainian culture.
You will learn how to come up with powerful ideas, unite teams and partners around them, and make sure that everything goes according to plan. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore trends, working with national minorities, and practical tips for working during wartime.
At the end of the Lab, you will receive a set of practical tools and an opportunity to receive EUR 500 for realisation of your cultural initiative.
When: 11-22 May
Where: Zoom
- 11 May, 14.00–18.00. Strategy: the role of culture, culture in small towns and villages, setting priorities and goals.
- 12 May, 14.00–18.00. Management: how to turn an idea into a project, the logic and components of a grant application, communications, risk management, and crisis management.
- 13 May, 14.00–18.00. Communities: the impact of art on communities, supporting communities and vulnerable groups.
- 14 May, 14.00–18.00. Partnerships: working with local and international partners, intercultural communication, and cultural diplomacy.
- 18–20 May at a convenient time. Group consultations with experts: Anna Myhal, Valentyna Sotnykova, Hlib Zelhin, Dariia Prokhorchuk, Diana Berh, Mariia Yaremchuk, Olena Mykhailenko, Polina Horodyska, and Yurii Tkach.
- 22 May, 14.00–18.00. Final pitching.
The lab will benefit:
- Cultural project managers with less than two years of experience who want to systematise their knowledge.
- Newcomers who dream of carrying out art projects and want to get the basics of cultural project management.
