Fellowships for scientists
These are fellowships for scholars who stay in Ukraine. You will receive a monthly stipend, a community of like-minded people, regular educational events and access to the library - all to focus on your research within the walls of the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study.
The fellowships are funded by the Swedish Research Council (VR). This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- Semester or full academic year at the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study from 1 September 2026 to 11 June 2027
- Monthly salary, depending on your degree and funding

This scholarship is for scholars who:
- Have Ukrainian citizenship or a residence permit
- Reside in Ukraine
- Have completed their PhD in the humanities or social sciences at least three years ago and have proven scientific achievements, publications, and international research activity
- Work at a Ukrainian academic institution
- Have a good command of English
- CV — up to 4 pages
- List of scientific publications you are proud of — up to 10
- Brief description of the project you will work on — up to 1500 characters
- Motivation. Tell us why you want to go to the residency, how it will benefit you and the Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study — up to 100 words each
- Sample article, abstract from a book or monograph in English
- Copy of PhD diploma
- Three recommendation letters
Complete the online application by 27 February.
The organisers will support two scholars. You will receive the results by email on the online platform by the end of April.
