Research Fellowship Programme in Germany
This is an opportunity to work on your research for up to six months at the University of Regensburg. You will receive a monthly stipend, a comfortable workspace and access to the library.
If you cannot leave Ukraine, virtual mobility is also an option.
The scholarship is provided by the University of Regensburg, with support from the German Federal Foreign Office and the DAAD. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- A monthly or six-month residency at the University of Regensburg from March to November 2026.
- Scholarship: EUR 1,300 for doctoral researchers, EUR 2,000 for postdoctoral students and EUR 2,150 if you have already defended your thesis.
- EUR 350 for round-trip tickets.
- Access to the library.
- Networking and the opportunity to attend lectures and seminars
- If you want to stay in Ukraine, a monthly virtual mobility and EUR 450 for research.
These scholarships are for Ukrainian scientists who:
- Are currently enrolled or already hold a PhD degree
- Study the language, cultural heritage, war, post-war reconstruction, migration, and regional diversity of Ukraine
- CV
- A description of the research project — up to 3 pages
- A list of publications
- Contact details of two people who can give you a recommendation
The documents must be in English or German. Remember to indicate how much time you will need for the research.
Please compile the documents into a single PDF by 23 December and send it to sekretariat.du@ur.de.

- The results will be announced in January 2026. The organisers will select thirteen researchers to spend a month at the university and six to join a six-month residency. Twenty-five researchers will attend the online residency.
- Unfortunately, the organisers cannot explain why your application was not selected.
