Jerzy Giedroyc Fellowship
This is an opportunity to work on your research within the walls of the Institute for Humanities Sciences in Vienna for four months.
You will have a monthly stipend of up to EUR 3,300 to pursue research on historical, political, or literary relations between Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, and Belarus. The organisers will provide a comfortable working space and access to all the institution's facilities.
The scholarship is provided by the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- A monthly stipend that will cover all the expenses related to your stay in Vienna: EUR 2,750 if you are currently enrolled in a PhD programme and EUR 3,300 if you already hold a degree
- The opportunity to work on your research at the Institute for Human Sciences for four months — from September 2025 to June 2026
These scholarships are for scientists who:
- Are currently enrolled or have already held a PhD in the humanities or social sciences awarded in 2021 or later
- Want to implement a research project on Polish-Ukrainian, Polish-Belarusian or Polish-Lithuanian relations in the field of history, politics or literature or on the contribution of Jerzy Gedroyc and the "Kultura" publishing house
- Completed application form
- CV including a list of publications
- Project description — up to 550 characters
- Project proposal: objectives, state of the art, methods and work plan in up to 7,500 characters
- Cover letter with information on how your stay at the university will benefit the concrete goals of your research
- Two recommendation letters
All documents must be in English and PDF format. Use Latin characters for attachment file names.
By 16 February, submit the online application, attaching the required documents in one PDF file.
The competition's results will be announced in spring. Unfortunately, the organisers cannot explain why your application was not selected.
