This is an opportunity to visit German newsrooms and exchange experiences with local journalists. You will develop an idea with the team, create a report during your trip to Ukraine and publish it in the German media.

The project will begin with a personal meeting of the participants in Berlin and will last until the end of January 2025.

The competition is managed by n-ost in cooperation with the Prague Civil Society Center. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

Can I apply?

This is an exchange for Ukrainian journalists who:

  • Live in Ukraine
  • Are engaged in journalism for more than three years
  • Work in media or freelance
  • Know English well
What do I need to apply?
  • Completed online form: tell us about yourself, projects and media you worked with
  • Motivation — up to 1500 characters
  • An idea of ​​the material you want to work on
  • Links to 2-3 recent publications
How do I apply?

By 6 October, submit the online form in English. 

You will find out the results of the competition in mid-October.

Good to know
  • The organisers also invite German journalists with experience reporting on Ukraine. Please share the English version of the competition with colleagues from Germany.
  • You must publish the material by the end of January 2025.
