Mediengeist 3.0: one-day media literacy hackathon
Mediengeist is a one-day media literacy hackathon that brings together communities and projects to counter destructive narratives, fakes, and misinformation about a full-scale Russian invasion.
You will meet like-minded people, develop a joint project and pitch the idea to the jury. Three winners will receive UAH 60,000 and, together with their mentors, will plan how to bring their project to life.
The Hackathon is held by Goethe-Institut Ukraine in partnership with the Ukrainian popular science media Kunsht and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. This is one of the thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- A chance to win UAH 60,000 for your fact-checking application, social media campaign, art project or YouTube show
- Development plan and support of mentors at the project scaling stage
- Completed application form: elaborate on your experience, previous media literacy projects and idea you want to implement during the Hackathon
- Ukrainian citizenship. You can also apply if you are currently abroad
- To be a private entrepreneur, LTD, NGO, etc. If not registered as a private entrepreneur, ask your partner organisation to team up with you
- Apply even if you have no experience in countering disinformation. Participants who have already worked with the topic will have an advantage, but you will also have a chance.
- You can apply with a team, but only one person can attend the hackathon.
