Grants for journalists: for articles in European media
This is your chance to receive EUR 5,000 for a story about Ukraine that will be published in European media.
Enlist the support of an EU colleague to create a report, article, comic, photo project, podcast, documentary or book. The audience should see the results of your work by November 2024.
The Europe Ukraine Desk is managed by the German organisation n-ost and funded by the European Commission. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
Up to EUR 5,000 for:
- Fees for freelancers and full-time journalists
- Production
- Travel
- Translators and fixers services
- Equipment and tools for creating material: databases, operating systems, equipment rental, etc.
Grants are for international teams of freelancers and full-time journalists that:
- Consist of two to four journalists
- Have at least one participant from Ukraine and one from Bulgaria, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy or Spain
- Have an idea of solid material
- Application form completed in English
- Project Description: elaborate on the idea, goals, target audience, and potential impact
- Production and publication plan
- The project budget in the form
- CVs of all team members
- If available, a confirmation letter from a European media outlet willing to publish your story
By 1 August, submit the online form. One joint application is enough.
You will find out the results by 23 August.
- The grant will not cover stationery, new equipment and office rent.
