CreArt 3.0: residency for visual artists in Leipzig

It is an art residency in Leipzig's former Spinnerei industrial complex, which now serves as the heart of the local and international art scene.

The residency theme is "Where/construction of painting." Dedicate yourself to working with art, and the organisers will cover accommodation, round-trip tickets, production, and a fee of EUR 1,000.

The residency takes place within CreART, an EU project that supports the exchange of experience and best practices between European cities. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

  • A five-week residency in Leipzig: from 1 September to 15 October or 17 October to 30 November 
  • Free accommodation and a comfortable workspace
  • The artist fee of EUR 1,000
  • EUR 600 for production

  • Public presentation of the project and a chance to popularise your work abroad
Can I apply?

This is a residence for Ukrainian artists who:

  • Live in one of the cities or villages of Ukraine or another city of the project
  • Work with painting, photography or video
  • Know English well
What do I need to apply?
  • Completed application form. Also, indicate the desired period of stay at the residency
  • CV in English
  • Motivation letter — up to 500 words.
  • Portfolio
  • Brief description of the project — up to 1 page
  • Scanned copy of the foreign passport
How do I apply?

Submit an online application and send a package of documents to tajnistvo@hdlu.hr by 15 June. The subject of the letter is ‘Leipzig’.

You will find out if you are among the two winners on 8 July.

Good to know
  • During the residency, you will live with one of the Croatian artists.
  • Unfortunately, the organisers cannot explain why your application was not selected.
