Ey!MAD: women residency for visual artists in Spain

This is an art residency for and about women. During two months at #Ey!Studio in Madrid, you will reflect on the situation of migrant women and get to know the local art scene. 

The organisers will provide free accommodation, a comfortable working space, and EUR 1,500 for living and production so that you can focus on creativity. 

The residency will last two months — from 24 March to 22 May 2025.

The residency is part of the Culture Moves Europe programme. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

What do I get?
  • A two-month residency at #Ey!Studio in the Carabanchel district of Madrid
  • Free accommodation, convenient work space and access to all space facilities
  • EUR 1,500 for daily expenses and production
  • Up to EUR 700 for round-trip tickets and EUR 80 for visa processing
  • If you plan to bring a child under 10 years old, an additional EUR 100
  • Participation in space events and networking with the local art community
  • Public presentation of the project and a chance to popularise your work abroad
Can I apply?

This residency is for women visual artists who: 

  • Have the citizenship of Ukraine or another Creative Europe country
  • Are interested in artistic research 
  • Want to create a project about migrant women from a critical prospect
  • Know English and Spanish well
What do I need to apply?
  • CV in English — up to 2 pages
  • An artistic dossier: show off your work and tell about the project you will work on during the residency (up to 600 words). The volume is up to 15 pages, and the language is English
  • If you are travelling with a child, a birth or guardianship certificate

All documents must be in PDF format.

How do I apply?

By 7 June, submit the online application in English.
