This is an opportunity to go to one of the oldest cities in Europe to work on your writing or translation project. 

During your residency, you will stay at La Corrala de Santiago, a unique 16th-century architectural building in the historic Realejo district. The organisers will cover all expenses, and you are expected to promote the local literary scene.

The residency is organised by the programme "Granada — UNESCO City of Literature" with the University of Granada. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

Can I apply?

This residency is for writers, poets, and translators who:

  • Live in any corner of the world
  • Have at least two published books 
  • Work on a new project or translation 
  • Are interested in the culture and history of Granada
  • Know English or Spanish well
What do I need to apply?
  • Completed application form. Elaborate on your achievements, publications, and the project you want to implement during the residency
  • Excerpt from a published book translated into English or Spanish — up to 3000 words
  • Motivation letter — up to 250 words
  • If applicable, a recommendation letter

The organisers will choose two winners. The results will be published on the residency website on 24 July.
