“What does a film producer do?” is the operative question of this three-hour workshop. We will start by defining terms before moving to the five phases of the production process and centring the rest of the class around using marketing tools and strategies in raising finance, finding distribution, and maximising a project’s commercial potential in the marketplace. Taught by seasoned US producers and illustrated by VIEWPARK and Barbie Movie case studies.
The workshop is offered by the New York Film Academy (NYFA), a leading American private university founded in 1992, within our partnership with Netflix.

- A Film Finance instructor at the New York Film Academy
Can I apply?
This course will benefit Ukrainian producers that:
- Have at least one credit
- Are 18+ years old
- Are citizens of Ukraine, residing in Ukraine or having left in 2022
What do I need to apply?
- CV
- A screenshot of the title card or a link to your profile on any open-source film database (IMDB, Dzyga, etc.)
- A scan of your passport of Ukraine
How do I apply?

Log in, opt for the chapter ’Digital Labs’ and the open call ’Workshop “What does a producer do”’.
You will get an electronic letter with the results of the open call on 1 July.

- Participants will receive certificates on completing the workshop. To get one, fill in the feedback form.

- Ukrainian citizens residing in the Restricted Regions of Ukraine are not eligible. "Restricted Region of Ukraine” refers to the United States-sanctioned areas of Ukraine. Those include Crimea, ‘LPR’, and ‘DPR’.
