This is an opportunity to go to Poland's cultural capital to work on your writing or translation project. Here you will meet Polish writers and introduce them to your work.

During the residency, you will live in the Polish poet Czeslaw Milosz's apartment and receive a monthly stipend.

The residency is organised by the programme "Krakow — UNESCO City of Literature". This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

Can I apply?

This residency is for writers, poets, translators and journalists who:

  • Live in any corner of the world
  • Have at least one published fiction or documentary book, poetry collection, film or theatre script
  • Work on a new project or translation 
  • Are interested in the Central European region
  • Know English well
What do I need to apply?
  • Completed application form. Elaborate on your achievements, publications, and the project you want to implement during the residency
  • CV or biography
  • Extract from a published text in Polish or English — up to 2 pages
  • Motivation letter 
  • Recommendation letter (optional)
