Jan Patočka Fellowships for scientists
This is an opportunity to write a study about (post)Europe within the walls of the Institute for Humanities Studies in Vienna. You will have a monthly stipend of up to EUR 3,000, a comfortable workspace, access to all the institute's resources, and five months to continue Jan Patočka's work.
The scholarship is provided by the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- A monthly stipend coverштп all the expenses related to your stay in Vienna: EUR 2,500 if you are currently enrolled in a PhD programme and EUR 3,000 if you already hold a degree.
- The opportunity to work on your research at the Institute for Human Sciences for five months — from September 2024 to July 2025.
These scholarships are for scientists who:
- Are currently enrolled or have already held a PhD in the humanities or social sciences awarded in 2020 or later.
- Study (post)Europe from the perspective of the history of philosophy, postcolonialism, war, technology, the meaning of modernity, and the dialectic of enlightenment.
- Completed application form.
- CV, including a list of publications.
- Project description — up to 550 characters.
- Project proposal: objectives, state of the art, methods and work plan in up to 7,500 characters.
- Cover letter with information on how your stay at the university will benefit the concrete goals of your research.
- Two recommendation letters.
All documents must be in English and PDF format. For file names of attachments, use Latin characters.
By 14 March, submit the online application, attaching the required documents in one PDF file.
You will find out the results of the competition in the spring of 2024. Unfortunately, the organisers cannot explain why your application was not selected.
