Grants for festivals to organise residencies for emerging artists
This is a chance for festivals to receive up to EUR 15,000 to organise an artist residency. Enlist the support of a European festival to jointly create a platform for networking, exchange of experiences, and the emergence of artists on the international cultural scene.
Organising an artistic residency between 1 June 2024 and 31 May 2025 is necessary. The grant will cover 80% of the costs.
The programme is managed by the European Festivals Association in frames of the European Festivals Fund for Emerging Artists initiative. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- EUR 8,000 to organise residency for emerging artists with a European festival.
- EUR 15,000 to organise residency for experienced artists with at least two European festivals.
This programme is for Ukrainian festivals that:
- Work in architecture, ballet, contemporary dance, circus, design, applied or digital art, film, folk art, cultural heritage, literature, music, opera, street art, theatre, photography, sculpture, painting or interdisciplinary projects.
- Want to organise a residency with a partner from the EU, Great Britain, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Iceland, Kosovo, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Tunisia, Israel, Moldova, Palestine, Switzerland or Turkey.

- Information about you and the festival.
- Artists’ brief bios and portfolio links.
- Information about partner festivals.
- Motivation: explain how you will attract artists and establish partnerships.
- A letter of intent from the artists.
- A letter of intent from a partner.
- A detailed budget.

- By 19 March, fill out the online application in English.
The results will be announced by the end of April. The organisers will choose 50 winners: 40 residencies for emerging artists and 10 for experienced artists.
- You can submit only one application as a leading festival but be a partner in other projects.
- You can partner up with several festivals at once but from different countries.
- You must spend 80% of the grant on artist development and 10% on communication production needs. The organisers will deduct 10% of the grant for the development of the programme.
