This is an opportunity to implement a choreographic project together with a partner, without worrying about money. It is not necessary to create a new work. It can be learning a dance, mastering a new technique or work methods — anything that will contribute to your professional growth.
The scholarship will fund over three months of work between September 2024 and August 2025.
The fellowship programme is carried out by the Arts Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Pina Bausch Foundation. This is one of the thousands of EU opportunities for Ukrainians.
What do I get?
- A monthly fellowship: EUR 2,500 if you plan to devote more than 21 hours a week to the project or EUR 1,000 — if up to 20 hours a week. You can spend money on tickets, accommodation, per diems, visas etc.
- Two trips to Wuppertal — at the beginning and at the end of the project.
- The ability to independently choose a partner and the format of cooperation — on-site, virtual or in a hybrid format.
- Mentoring and exchange of experience.
Can I apply?
- This fellowship is for dancers and choreographers who:
- Have an academic degree or two years of professional experience in dance contexts.
- Have a good command of English.

What do I need to apply?
- CV in tabular form — up to 1,000 characters.
- A portrait photo in jpg or png format.
- A short description of yourself as an artist — up to 500 characters.
- Letter of motivation — up to 1000 characters.
- A brief statement on the project — up to 500 characters.
- Information on your cooperating partner — up to 500 characters. If no one comes to mind, check previous cooperating partners.
- Letter of intent by the cooperating partner. It should be in English and in pdf format.
- Calculated travel costs for trips to Wuppertal with staying dates.
- Link to one video of your performance — up to five minutes. Please use Vimeo, Dropbox or Google Drive.

Good to know
- This is a competition for individual applicants. You cannot submit group applications.
- You cannot apply if you have previously received the Pina Bausch Fellowship.
