Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study
These scholarships are for scientists who remain in Ukraine. The organisers will ensure you have everything you need to be productive for ten months: a monthly stipend, a community of like-minded people, regular educational events and access to the library.
Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study scholarships are managed by the Wissenschaftskolleg and financed by the Volkswagen Foundation Germany. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- Monthly fellowship: EUR 500 for postdocs and EUR 1,000 for professors.
- A ten-month affiliation with Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study from 1 October 2024 to 31 July 2025.
- Regular colloquiums and workshops.
- Access to the library.
- Acquaintances with international colleagues.
- Assistance in publishing and translating your research work.
This scholarship is for researchers who:
- Have Ukrainian citizenship or a long-time residence permit.
- Remain in Ukraine.
- Work at a university or other research institution.
- Have a good command of English.

- Completed application form.
- CV with a list of publications.
- A title and a summary of the project you will work on — up to 3,200 characters.
- Motivation letter — up to 2,000 characters.
- Two sample articles, at least one must be in English.

- Organisers will support 15 researchers. You will receive the results via email within six months of the application deadline.
- Unfortunately, the organisers cannot explain why your application was not selected.
