This is an opportunity to visit independent media and public broadcasters from six EU countries. Later, grants for materials about Ukraine in European media, a monthly newsletter and events in Kyiv await you.

The Europe Ukraine Desk is managed by the German organisation n-ost and funded by the European Commission. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

What do I get?
  • Two study tours: Budapest-Sofia-Rome Berlin-Brussels-Paris on 13–25 April, and Berlin-Paris-Madrid from 25 May to 6 June 2024.
  • Coverage of all travel-related expenses.
  • Networking with colleagues from the EU.
  • Participation in the community of media professionals from all over the EU.
  • The opportunity to win a grant of EUR 5,000 for a project about Ukraine.
Can I apply?

The organisers are waiting for applications from journalists and reporters that:   

  • Are based in Ukraine.
  • Work in a public or independent media.
  • Have experience in covering international news
  • Are experienced in international collaboration.
  • Have a basic knowledge of the EU structure.
  • Have a good command of English.
What do I need to apply?
  • Application form completed in English: tell about yourself, projects and media you have previously worked with.
  • Motivation — up to 1,500 characters.
  • CV.
  • A list of recent publications.
How do I apply?

Submit the online form by 11 December. 

Organisers will choose 12 winners.

Good to know
  • The organisers will issue an official invitation to male journalists in Ukraine, but do not guarantee permission to leave the country.
