Invisible University for Ukraine: online courses for Ukrainian students
This is an opportunity for Ukrainian students to complete intensive learning courses at Central European University, an international educational institution among the top five universities in Hungary.
You will learn more about the role of Ukraine in the global context and could implement a research project about events in Ukraine. Conduct a social survey of displaced people, document war crimes or talk to organisations involved in post-war reconstruction — the university will provide EUR 800 for research. The best students will go to the winter school in Budapest.
The programme will last from September to December 2023. Winter School on CEU’s Budapest campus will take place in January 2024.
Central European University implements the programme with Imre Kertész Kolleg Jena, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv and Ukrainian Catholic University. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- Three elective courses in the humanities and social sciences
- Individual mentoring with leading European and Ukrainian scientists
- Classes in academic English and writing
- Opportunity to get a scholarship of EUR 800 for a research project about events in Ukraine
- Most prospective students will go to Budapest for winter school in January 2024
This is a programme for bachelor, master and postdoctoral students who:
- Have a good command of English
- Are currently in Ukraine or abroad
- Were studying at Ukrainian university in the academic year 2021-2022 or will start university studies in 2023
- A short CV
- A motivation letter — up to one page
- If you want to apply for the research scholarship, a short description of the project — up to 800 symbols
Send the package of documents to iufu@ceu.edu by 8 September.
The documents should be submitted in Ukrainian or English.
- You will find out the results by 18 September.
- You will have courses in the late afternoons once a week.
- Each course consists of 12 sessions that are equal to four ECTS credits.
