Mediengeist is an accelerator of projects for countering destructive narratives, fakes, and disinformation on full-scale invasion. You will get workshops from leading experts, mentorship, and EUR 6,300 to implement a project advancing the skills of critical information consumption in times of war.
The accelerator is held by Goethe-Institut in partnership with the Ukrainian popular science media Kunsht and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany. This is one of the thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

What is on the programme?
- Training. 30 participants will attend online workshops from leading Ukrainian and foreign experts on media literacy, social media content, financial management, storytelling, and technological innovations. You will also get EUR 300.
- Project development. The seven best ideas will receive EUR 1,000 to create a demo version of the project by the end of November. The Mediengeist team will provide expert support and the necessary training.
- Scaling. Three best projects with get EUR 5,000 to scale their idea. The Mediengeist team will provide mentoring support to scale projects within the accelerator.

What do I need to apply?
- Completed application form: elaborate on your experience and previous media literacy projects and briefly describe the project you want to implement.
- Ukrainian citizenship. You can also apply if you are currently abroad.
- English language at B1 level. Training will be held in Ukrainian and English.
- To be a private entrepreneur, LTD, NGO, etc. If not registered as a private entrepreneur, ask your partner organisation to team up with you.
Good to know
- You can also apply if you have an idea for a project for countering disinformation but have yet to gain experience working with this topic. However, the organisers will prioritise those participants who have previously worked with the issue.
- You can apply in a team. However, only one person will participate in the training.
