This is an opportunity to go on a four-month residency in Germany to create work at the intersection of art and science. You will get inspiration in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics.

Organises will provide an artist’s fee of EUR 8,000, additional costs for accommodation and production, as well as access to the sound studio and other facilities of the Institute.

The programme is managed by the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Germany. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

Can I apply?

This is a residency for artists who:

  • Work with any all art disciplines, but with a focus on installation, music, time-based or performative art
  • Want to develop an existing project or have an innovative idea at the intersection of art and science
  • Dream of sharing the project with the audience at an exhibition or concert
  • Know English well
What do I need to apply?
  • Completed application form
  • CV
  • Artist's statement with information of your practice, concepts, methods, etc. — up to 500 characters
  • Description of the project, which explains cooperation with the Institute and scientific interest — up to 500 characters
  • Portfolio — up to 20 pages
How do I apply?
Submit the online application attaching all the necessary documents by 31 August. The language of the application is English.
Good to know
  • The residency will be held twice: from March to June and from September to December 2024.
  • Unfortunately, the organisers will not explain why they don't choose your  application.
