The Nexus of Decision 2023: residencies for Ukrainian artists and researchers in Germany

Sector: Culture and creative industries
Type: Residency
Location: Genshagen and Berlin, Germany
Deadline: Finished
Organiser: The German Federal Foreign Office

The Nexus of Decision 2023 is the residency for young artists and scientists exploring the cultural and historical causes of mass violence that Ukraine, Poland and Germany have faced.

Participants will try to understand how different nations perceive Russia's war against Ukraine, how they choose action or inaction, and what cultural and historical events determine attitudes to the most important concepts of today — peace, pacifism, patriotism, propaganda, solidarity, resistance and surrender.

You will spend several days in Genshagen, attending lectures, workshops and various cultural institutions. The culmination of the residency will be a presentation in Berlin, where you will present your project and have the opportunity to win a scholarship. The residency will take place from 10 to 16 February, 2023.

The program is provided by the Pilecki Institute, Vitsche e.V., Genshagen Stiftung with the support of the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation and the German Federal Foreign Office. This is one of the thousands of the EU opportunities for Ukraine.
