This is an opportunity for Ukrainian younger scholars to work on your research in the Institute for Human Sciences in Austria for four months. You will have a monthly stipend of up to EUR 3,000, a comfortable workspace and access to all the institution's facilities.

The scholarship is provided by the Institute for Human Sciences. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

What do I get?
  • A monthly stipend of EUR 2,500 if you are currently enrolled in a PhD programme and EUR 3,000 if you already hold a degree
Can I apply?

These scholarships are for Ukrainian scientists who:

  • Are currently enrolled in PhD programme in the humanities or social sciences 
  • Or already hold a PhD in the humanities or social sciences awarded in 2017 or later
What do I need to apply?
  • CV
  • Description of the research project: purpose, expected results and critical literature in up to 7,500 characters
  • Cover letter with information on how your stay at the university will benefit the concrete goals of your research
  • List of publications
  • Two recommendation letters 

Complete all the documents in English.

How do I apply?

Submit the application via online portal by 16 January. 

You will know the results by April, 2023.

Good to know
  • The organisers will give preference to participants who are currently in Ukraine.
  • Unfortunately, the organisers will not provide applicants individual feedback on their applications.
