For visual artists: (Re)Grounding residency in Great Britain
Due to the constant shelling of chemical plants and nuclear power plants by Russian troops, the territory of Ukraine and the entire European continent are under threat of ecological disaster.
(Re)Grounding is an opportunity for Ukrainian artists to explore climate emergency in post-industrial contexts through research residency and an exhibition connecting practice, heritage and communities between Great Britain and Ukraine.
Organisers will provide you with an artist fee, accommodation, and production costs. You can bring along your family.
The programme is provided by IZOLYATSIA and D6 Culture in Transit as part of the UK/Ukraine Season organised by the British Council and Ukrainian Institute. This is one of thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.
- Opportunity to implement your project with the support of ISOLATION and D6. You will get around EUR 585 to cover production costs and a comfortable work studio in D6 contemporary art space in Newcastle
- Artist fee of EUR 3,500
- Per diem to cover living expenses
- Coverage of communication costs: translation into another language, Braille, subtitles.
- Visa assistance
- Support from a local Ukrainian producer
- Networking with Ukrainian and British colleagues
- Participation in a 2-day workshop in Newcastle upon Tyne in November 2022
- Application form completed in Ukrainian or English
- A short description of art activities in a video of up to one minute or text up to 150 words
- A brief description of the project you want to implement during the residency in a video of up to two minutes or text up to 250 words
- Motivation letter — up to 150 words

This is the first stage of the competition. If your application is successful, the organisers will invite you for a short informal conversation.
