This is an opportunity to take part in one of the most famous European residencies for young artists, scientists, and cultural practitioners. You will spend in Stuttgart from six months to one year working on a project in one of the following areas: 

  • Visual arts and media
  • Music and performing arts
  • Digital
  • Architecture and design
  • Literature and language
  • Education, mediation, theory
  • Humanities, social, natural and economic sciences

What do I get?
  • A monthly scholarship of EUR 1,200
  • A furnished living and working studio
  • Travel expenses for round trip and subsidy for the carriage of materials, tools, instruments, and books
  • Project funding and one-off materials subsidy
  • Health insurance
Can I apply?
You can apply if you:
  • Are aged up to 40 years
  • Have completed your studies. If you are PhD candidate you can apply 
  • Speak English, or German, or French
What do I need to apply?
  • Completed application form. Describe your professional background, current projects and goals during the residency
  • Contacts of two references who can provide you recommendation: professors, mentors, colleagues etc. 
  • Work samples. Please, check the possible options on the website 

Group applications are possible. Each group member must fill in an application on their own behalf.

  • The results of the selection will be announced from May 2022 at the earliest.
  • If you are a former fellow of the Akademie Schloss Solitude you can not apply.
