This is an art residency of one of the biggest ethnological museums in Europe (MARKK). During three months in Hamburg, you will work on the project inspired by the photo archive that captures the activities of the city's famous trading families. Organisers will provide you with a round trip, accommodation, and production costs.
 
The residency will take place from 15 September to 15 December 2021. The project will be presented in the Archive of Experiences exhibition which is part of the 8th Triennial of Photography in Hamburg 2022.

What do I get?
  • Up to EUR 9,000 to cover travel, housing and living expenses 
  • Up to EUR 12,000 to cover the production in the context of the exhibition

Can I apply?
This is a residency for the artists working in all art forms. Proficiency in working with ethnographic photo archives is an added advantage.
