This is the largest co-production, funding, and distribution platform tailor-made for Central and East European documentaries. You will present your project to the key decision-makers of the industry and receive their feedback. The organisators will help you to prepare for the pitching and arrange meetings with producers, broadcasters, distributors, and festival programmers from around the world.
More than 190 documentary films have been completed with the direct support of the East Doc Forum, including the projects by Ukrainian directors.
This is one of the thousands of EU opportunities for Ukraine.

What do I get?
- Teams of the feature-length projects and docu-series in the development / early production stage will take part in the largest pitch in the region East Doc Forum preceded by a five-day preparatory workshop and followed by two days of feedback round tables and one-on-one meetings
- Teams of the feature-length projects in late production and post-production will have personal meetings with international funders, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, and festival representatives at East Doc Market
- Teams of the documentary projects with VR/AR and interactive elements in development or production will have the five-day preparatory workshop and pitch at East Doc Interactive
Can I apply?
This opportunity is for you if you are working on сreative feature-length documentary film (creative story/character-driven), docu-series, or non-fiction transmedia (interactive factual, VR/AR) project in the development, production, or postproduction stage.
What do I need to apply?
- Logline and synopsis (2,000 characters maximum)
- Treatment (5,500 characters maximum)
- Budget
- Financing plan
- Three film stills
- Director’s photo, bio, and filmography
- Producer’s photo, bio, filmography, and company profile
- Link to the trailer
- Link to the previous films of the director
- Author’s presentation video explaining reasons to make this particular film and motivation to present it at East Doc Forum

Good to know
- East Doc Platform will take place in Prague on 6–12 March 2021.
- Successful applicants whose projects are selected have to pay the participation fee to cover accommodation and one meal per day.
- Travel expenses are not covered.
